3rd Annual - Live Every Day the Faz Way - Hockey Scholarship (2026-2027 Season)
The Cyclones Amateur Hockey Association, Fazio Hockey LLC, and the family of Michael Fazio are proud to announce the 3rd Annual Live Every Day the Faz Way Scholarship for the 2026–2027 season.
This annual scholarship honors the memory of Cyclones alumnus and former Chicago Steel Assistant GM Michael "Faz" Fazio. To honor Mike’s passion for helping players grow their love for the game, this program provides financial assistance toward hockey dues for a Cyclones family in need.
Who is Mike "Faz" Fazio?
Mike Fazio, aka Faz, grew up playing his youth hockey in the Cyclones organization and cultivating his love for the game on this same ice at Fox Valley Ice Arena. He would grow that passion over the years to a successful hockey career through the junior ranks, to play NCAA Division III Wisconsin River Falls, and to pro hockey finishing his playing career with the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL. With no shock to anyone that knew Mike, he ended up working in hockey as a coach and scout. Mike’s last job came full circle in his role as Assistant General Manager with the Chicago Steel, in the very rink where he learned to love the game. His passion for the game, and most importantly, helping players, was genuine and caring. Tragically, Mike was diagnosed with testicular cancer in the spring of 2023 and fought like a champion until his passing in the fall that same year. Mike’s impact on the world, the teammates he had, and players he worked with was evident in every conversation. With the ever-increasing cost of youth hockey, it would be Mike’s wish to continue helping players grow their passion for the game and ensure that no child has to walk away due to financial restrictions.
