Cyclones Spring Hockey Program
Welcome to the Cyclones Spring 2026 Hockey Season!
Cyclones Spring Hockey is designed to provide a development-first off-season experience with balanced competition, consistent ice touches, and flexible scheduling for families. Our Spring 2026 programming serves players from 8U through 18U, offering age-appropriate training that supports long-term player development while keeping athletes engaged and improving throughout the spring.
The Mites through Bantams will participate in age-appropriate structured skill sessions combined with competitive play through the Northern Illinois Hockey League (NIHL) and the Northwest Hockey League (NWHL), ensuring teams are placed at the appropriate level for meaningful development. Practice schedules are built with flexibility in mind, allowing families to select preferred practice nights at registration.
The Midget Spring Program (15U–18U) follows a different model, focusing on skill development and high-tempo 4v4 play. This program does not participate in league play, providing players with consistent touches and a lower-commitment option during the off-season.
In addition to core programming, Cyclones Spring Hockey offers Girls Hockey, Goalie Clinics, Checking Clinics, and training with GVN Performance. Across all levels, the Cyclones remain committed to long-term athlete development, appropriate competition, and creating an environment where players can continue to grow and enjoy the game.

Evaluations
Spring evaluations will take place March 9–13 and are required for all registered players. Every player will be evaluated and assigned to a spring team based on ability, allowing for competitive games and a positive development environment for all participants.

Based on the USA Hockey American Development Model (ADM), this skills development program focuses on enhancing skating, stick handling, and teamwork through station-based skill drills, small area games, and fun Jamboree games.
Spring Tournaments - Kane County Hockey Club
The Cyclones will field Spring Tournament Teams competing under the name Kane County Hockey Club. These teams provide select players with the opportunity to participate in additional tournament play during the spring season. Tournament teams are by invitation only, and invitations will be extended based on player evaluations and team needs. Not all players will be invited to participate in tournament play.
Participation on a Kane County Hockey Club tournament team is optional and not included in Spring Programming registration. There is an additional cost per tournament, which will be communicated at the time invitations are extended.
