The Cyclone organization is a non-for profit volunteer organization that relies on volunteers to get the job done during the year. Volunteering is a great way to get to know other parents in the organization and be involved in the organization that your kids are so involved in. The more volunteers we have to help, the less time it takes all of us.

The biggest demand for volunteers are during:
• Evaluations and tryouts in the Fall and Spring
• The Cyclones Christmas Tournament
• End of Season Tournaments that our club is hosting

The other times such as the Golf Outing, Picture Day, Parent Meetings do not require as many volunteers, but help is needed then too.

What are the duties of the volunteers?

During Evaluations and Tryouts-Parents are needed to distribute tryout jerseys, verify player information, and check the players in every night before tryouts and evaluations. This allows for the coaches to have correct information for their evaluations and the directors to be available to answer questions and deal with other issues as they arise during this time.

Tournaments require four minor officials (the volunteers) to keep score, run the clock and man the penalty boxes. These people need to be at the rink 20 minutes before game time. In addition to those functions, a couple of people are needed "out front" to check in players, check coaches cards, distribute and collect time sheets, direct the volunteers that are serving as minor officials to the appropriate rinks and be an extra set of eyes, ears and legs to help out the tournament director. During the tournament a total of 4 minor officials and 1 to 2 people at the "greeters" table are needed for each game. Each team is assigned games to provide the volunteers to fill the above positions.

It’s great to have the amount of cooperation we have from our parents. Volunteers are so important to keep the organization strong.
