Conduct and Ethics of Membership ALL COACHES ARE RESPONSIBLE
- For becoming certified by USA Hockey
at the appropriate level and screened by AHAI.
- And accountable to the Director of
Hockey Operations. The main function of the Head Coach is to properly
prepare hockey players to compete in hockey games and to help develop
the players best character.
- For being at all practices and games.
If they cannot attend, they are to contact the Director of Hockey, the
team manager and assistant coach (ensuring his attendance) a minimum
of 24 hours prior to the event.
- For the supervision of their players
at all rinks and at all times.
- For accompanying their team into the
locker room and checking the facility after they have left the practice
or game.
- For assisting, whenever possible,
other hockey teams in our organization.
ALL PLAYERS
- Are responsible for his or her equipment.
Loss of any equipment is the players responsibility.
- Are responsible for contacting the
head coach or team manager if he/she must miss practices or games, including
tournaments as soon as possible. A specific reason for missing must
be given.
- Are required to uphold certain standards
expected by our organization. The head coach will inform the players
of the requirements they need to follow. Appearance, expression and
actions always influence peoples opinions of the player, the team,
and the Cyclones.
- Are required to report all injuries
that occur while participating in practices or games to the head coach.
If the injury requires medical attention by a doctor or treatment center,
it will be necessary to have an injury form completed. Once a physician
treats the injury, the player must obtain the doctors permission
to return to hockey.
- Are responsible for being dressed
and ready at least 20 minutes prior to any scheduled event.
- Are expected to show proper respect
for any ice facility in which the team is playing.
- Are expected to show respect for their
teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials.
- Are expected to listen to and obey
all coaching instructions. If the player has a question or concern,
he or she should address it to the head coach after the practice or
game. If the player is not satisfied with the response to the question
or concern, parental guidance should be sought.
- Understand that any unexcused absence
for travel players (no prior phone call to the coach) could result in
a missed period of the next game. The second occurrence missed
game. The third occurrence goes before the Rules and Ethics Committee
with possible release from the team.
- Understand each travel player will
be allowed three excused absences. These include sickness, vacation,
funeral, car trouble, etc. Further absences could result in missed periods
or games. Extenuating circumstances can be discussed with the Director
of Hockey.
- Understand players are expected to
follow policies that may be set forth by coaches.
- Understand any absence policies for
house players will be determined by each head coach and communicated
to the parents and players at the beginning of the season
ALL PARENTS
- Are responsible for properly equipped
and dressed players.
- Will ensure that the player wears
only approved and safe equipment.
- Will ensure that the player is on
time for games and practices.
- Are responsible that insurance waivers
and any other appropriate paper work are completed. This must be done
before the player can practice with their team.
- Are responsible that all fees are
paid according to the schedules and policies set.
- Will not question the coachs
decisions where players can overhear.
- Will respect all players and the effort
they are putting forth.
- Are required to report all player
injuries that occur while participating in practices or games to the
head coach. If the injury requires medical attention by a doctor or
treatment center, it will be necessary to have an injury form completed.
Once a physician treats the injury, the player must obtain the doctors

- Will not address coaches, managers,
or players when alcohol is in their system.
- Will use the "24 Hour Rule".
This is a policy designed to give parents and coaches an opportunity
to put some space between differences of opinions. Our coaches have
been instructed to withdraw from any discussions with parents about
the coaching aspects of the team. If you have concerns about ice time
or other issues, please direct all inquiries to the team manager. He
or she will help you resolve the issue or direct you to the appropriate
board members who can.
- Should always be part of the solution
not the problem.
- Should be part of the team and consider
helping to make the team and the organization a better place for our
children.

Players Code of Ethics I hereby pledge to be positive about my hockey experience
and accept responsibility for my participation by following this Players
Code of Ethics Pledge:
I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, officials,
and parents at every game and practice by demonstrating good sportsmanship
myself.
I will attend every practice and game that I can, and will notify my head
coach if I cannot. I understand the importance of my attendance at every
practice and game and that my absence will have a major impact on my team.
I will do my best to listen to and learn from my coaches.
I will treat my coaches, other players, officials, and fans with respect
regardless of race, sex, creed, or abilities just as I expect to be treated.
I deserve to have fun during my hockey experience and will alert parents
or coaches if it stops being fun.
I deserve to play in an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco, and
alcohol and expect adults to refrain from their use at all hockey events.
I will encourage my parents to be involved with my team or the club in
some capacity because it is important to me.
I will do my very best in school.
I will remember that hockey is an opportunity to learn and have fun.
I will adhere to the policies and rules of the Cyclones Amateur Hockey

Parents Code of Ethics I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement
for my child participating in youth hockey by following this Parents
Code of Ethics Pledge:
I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support
for all players, coaches, and officials before, during, and after every
game, practice, or other hockey events.
I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of
a personal desire to win.
I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment.
I will support coaches and officials working with my child in order to
encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.
I will demand a sports environment for my child that is free of drugs,
tobacco, and alcohol, and will refrain from their use at all hockey events.
I will remember that the game is for the players not the adults.
I will do my very best to make hockey fun for my child.
I will insist my child treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials
with respect regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability and will do the
same myself.
I promise to help my child enjoy the hockey experience by doing things
such as being a respectful fan, assisting with coaching, providing transportation,
or volunteering my time.
I will adhere to the policies and rules of the Cyclones Amateur Hockey
Association.
I have read the CAHA Handbook and will follow the policies and rules of
