Greetings,
Welcome to the 2011-2012 hockey season. The tremendous amount of work done by our staff and volunteers throughout the off season has paid huge dividends. Our preseason registration numbers already has our membership larger than what it was last season. Administratively, we have streamlined our registration, improved our website, modified our tryout process, updated our apparel ordering system, and created a platform for which our members can be active administratively in our Board Meetings.
This is all wonderful (you say); but, what about the hockey? Well, I'm glad you asked. It all starts with the fundamentals of development. Children are curious and intelligent creatures. They want to become better, and the stronger they become, the greater their self esteem, which leads to more confidence and FUN. They are smart enough to know that in order to get better, they need to work at it. If they are willing to put in the time, we will be here to make certain that they develop and enjoy their youth hockey experience. From our Off Ice Developmental Program with Mike Andrews, to our implementation of the USA Hockey ADM program, to our on ice training with Kenny Mc Cudden, and of our course our dedicated coaching staff, we want to make certain that we provide the best services possible for our membership.
Best Regards,
Youth hockey is not just about the players, it's about an experience for the entire family. From the pizza party after a game, to the out of town weekend, this should be an enjoyable experience for everyone. You never know when your child will have "the best year ever". Our goal is to create that atmosphere each and every season.
In closing, I encourage everyone to enjoy the upcoming season to the fullest. From the car ride to practice, to the post game pat on the back, enjoy every minute of it. For those of you that have actually read this letter in the past, or have been near me during these past three years, you know my philosophy all to well. There are "NO DO-OVERS"! Enjoy the moment and seize the day.
I look forward to seeing everyone around the rink, and enjoying what promises to be a very exciting season.
