We recently received an e-mail from the parent of an opponent that we wanted to share with you. It captures just about everything that we as a club stand for and would like all of our members to emulate. To me, this is what our sport and our club is about. Congratulations to the families, players and Cyclone coaches Brian Guevara and Keith Priester who prompted this e mail, for their sportsmanship and their behavior. Way to go Cyclones!
Cyclones Amateur Hockey Association
My name is Matthew Shirley and my son plays for the Niles Rangers Squirt 1 team. After playing the Cyclones 2 once, Cyclones 1 twice in the NWHL Division 2 playoffs I had to take a moment to tell you how impressed I was with the class of your organization and parents. Your teams were well coached, and represented themselves with class and sportsmanship, even when it had to pain them to do so. The parents of the players on these teams were also amazing to interact with before and after these games. There are at least 20 examples that made myself, and other Rangers parents take notice and point out. I know this will do nothing to make boys and girls of this age feel better after this weekend’s results, but I hope this lets you know that the coaches and parents in your organization will ensure continued successes in hockey and more importantly in molding the kids into great young men and women.
