What: This program applies USA Hockey’s Off-Ice Player Development program and is an important part of the American Development Modal. Participants will learn fundamentals in: stickahndling, shooting, passing, foot speed, body alignment, agility and fun hockey games. They will know what to do at home to improve on-ice development.
Who: All Cyclones Mites through Bantams (NWHL, NIHL, and CSDHL).
When: Participants will have Off-Ice Skills Development every other Monday night when power skating is scheduled. 10 sessions per season.
Where: North end of the NHL rink
Fee: Team $500 or Individual $59. If a team has 9 players or more, it is more cost effective to register the complete team.
Registration: Registration is coordinated by the team manager. Let your team manager know you want to participate in the Cyclones Off-Ice Skill Development program. Then your manager will put you on the team roster. Your manager will let you know what your fee will be. It will be $59 or less depending on the number registering. Make checks out to” Off-Ice Development”.
Instructor: Mike Andrews returns for a seventh year with the Cyclones and 35th year as a hockey coach/instructor. He is a USA Hockey Level 5 master instructor. Mike is a former Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Chicago Blackhawks and Head Coach of Wheaton College. For the past 10 years he has volunteer with Hockey Ministries International.
