In an effort for the Cyclones Amateur Hockey Association to offset the cost of youth hockey each year we have identified three types of fundraising.

The first method of fundraising is a raffle that is held each year and is mandatory for each family registered with the club. The proceeds from this raffle directly offset the costs associated with the Cyclones organization, which is primarily ice time. As part of the registration each family will pay a fee of $300 for raffle tickets. The tickets are in $10 increments and may be retained by each family for entry into the raffle or sold to recoup the cost. All tickets will be distributed at the mandatory parent meeting. Once distributed they become the responsibility of the family and if lost will not be replaced by the Cyclones organization. The prizes for the 2006 raffle will be announced in the fall and the drawing will be held in December 2006. Prizes in the past have included 6 new cars, motorcycles, TV's, stereo equipment and cameras.

The second method of fundraising will consist of activities that the Cyclones organization sanctions but are left to the discretion of each team as to whether or not they wish to participate. This type of arrangement will allow each team to leverage the size of the entire organization for discounts but not obligate everyone to participate. Examples of this could be the Krispy Kreme donut card or the ValuCard discount program. Obviously, all proceeds will directly benefit the teams participating. As these opportunities arise they will be communicated to the team managers who can then decide whether their team will participate.

The third method of fundraising is the individual team activities - bake sales, car washes etc. In these situations it is up to the team to determine what activities make sense and have the potential to raise money. The proceeds from these events directly impact the individual team and can be used at their discretion. In these situations, each team does need permission to utilize the Cyclones name and logo in any advertising. These activities are a great way to offset the cost of out of town tournaments and team parties, as an example.
