Training and Development

The Central States Developmental Hockey League is the elite Tier II league in Illinois and the Midwest. Founded in 1999 it has evolved into the premiere Tier II league in the Midwest. The philosophy is based on the development and promotion of Tier II hockey in Illinois and the Central States region by offering, establishing and maintaining the highest standards of excellence and sportsmanship in individualized and team play. Organizations must show over a consistent time period the commitment to fielding competitive travel hockey teams to be considered for membership to the league. Beginning in the fall 2003-04 season the Cyclones will become full members of CSDHL, fielding teams at the Squirt through Midget Major level.

The playing time will consist of a 22 –23 game schedule (equal number of home versus away games). The Major Midgets are also scheduled for a Tournament Showcase in Springfield, Illinois during the month of January. The top six teams within the Midget Major division will be invited to attend. This will consist of a four game series. The league is planning on inviting college and university coaches and Junior Tier scouts to attend.

Additional information can also be found at www.csdhl.org regarding the league, rescheduling of games and statistics.
